Let Hell week begin
I don't know what you guys call it, but in my group, we call it HELL WEEK
The week before the show, where we, against all odds, try to iron out all the kinks in the show, and by SOME MIRACLE, everything turns out perfectly.

Well, let me tell you, we are going to need a miracle the size of Australia to pull this one off.

It's not that we're bad, or doing less work, its that this is one of the more complicated plays that my group has ever done. 4 acts, that are shorter than normal acts, but still pretty long. We've all dropped scripts at this point, but some of us (including myself) still need alot of prompting in spots where we don't know the script that well. Luckily for me, i know my huge-*ss monolog.

If any of you lived in Montgomery County, Maryland, I'd tell you to come out and see the show, but I doubt any of you do. All the same, the show dates are November 19th-21st, and I am in the Thursday and Saturday evening shows (we do 2 shows on Saturday).

Are you feeling... admirable?
First off, I am pvfreerunner, aka Xanthos. I had to change my accounts on everything for security perposes. So dont be PMing me on pvfreerunner.

Anyway, i would like to announce that I have gotten the lead roll (Crichton) in the play: The Admirable Crichton, by J. M. Barrie. You know, the guy who wrote Peter Pan?

It's going to be hard, because Crichton is in almost all of the play, and I have a fairly busy schedule, and the play is pretty long, but I think I can hack it.

I'm sorry I never got pics up on any of my other preformances. LJ seems to not be compatable with my Mac when I try to upload picts from my files. Any help on that? More info soon!!

Update on the show
Opening weekend went great.  We even had a small boy start crying during the scene where we beat up the lead female role.  I sort of felt bad because we could hear him balling and the mother had to take him out.  There is a meet the cast thing after the show every night where we come out in costume to say hello to friends and family.  we had to show the toddler that she was alright and we were all friends.  he ended up smiling and running over to the main villain and smacking him calling him bad.  he acted like he was hurt and ran off.  the other bad guys including myself ran away from the toddler too which made him feel better.  The lead actress evern said  "my hero"  LOL  we really did feel bad.
Almost sad its almost over.  this coming friday saturday and sunday.  then next friday and saturday and thats it.  I will be doing Children of Eden and Anything Goes with this group too.  Hope I get a lead part in those.  I already know I would love to be Moonface Martin again in Anything Goes.

I'm feeling Piratey!
Hello all, I have been away from LJ for a while but for good reason:
My local theater camp is putting on Pirates of Pinzance!  We've got a good cast, good music, and a horrible stage. Since the normal stages we use are being used, We are putting it on in a Chapel that the camp has used before (I belive our music director is a member of it. Diciples of Christ, I think.)
Anyway, they have graciously allowed us to use their building, so I guess I can't complain TOO much. Anyway, the show is this friday, (the 24th) and things are looking good. BTW, I'm a pirate in the first act, and The Sargent in the second. More once the show is done!

Fan preform/ group dynamics
Well, I discovered LJ and this community a few weeks late for this, but anyway...
Hey, I was doing a fan performace of Channel/furreality from Yiff! the Musical (or <furReality> as it is now called) but it had to be postponed for next year unfortunately, due to pianist issues (i've got that fixed NOW, but it's too late) I've been in contact with the guy who is making this musical (Tim Saward) and he said he was cool with it.
Anyway, I was wondering if you guys had any tips on how to get and keep people together on a project (5 people includeing me and the pianist) that is completely volentary, to do on their spare time, WHILE in school. None of them are furry, BTW, but they're all cool with it.
I had a few of my talented drama friends together, and they were pretty good about sticking to it, untill things went to hell. I figured since this is a FURRY community on ACTING, I thought it would be the perfect place to put this. :D  I know I'm probalby insane for trying to do this, but... well I guess I am a little insane XD
You guys have a few vids of this exact musical on actorfurs, the rest are on his site/ youtube, just so you know.
In my experience, things like this can fall apart VERY easily (case in point). so any advice from u guys would be awsome.

Beauty and the Beast makeup photos!
I wanted to show off some pics of my recent work on the makeup for my school's musical, Beauty and the Beast.  And I thought this was probably the best place to do it! haha.

International Thespian Society
This year, I recently got inducted into the International Thespian Society.  I was a junior in highschool last year just taking my first theatre class EVER and I got inducted this year.  I performed in our competition one act play 'The Orphan Train' as Mrs. Williams, as well as being the head director of makeup for my school's spring musical Disney's Beauty and the Beast.  Finally, today I got my membership card, and I'm very pleased to now be a card-carrying member of ITS.

*fox peeks in*

Greetings and Felicitations.

I, Camstone Fox, known to some as "Doc" and "Fox on Coffee" hereby express my gratitude that someone had the Thespian sense to do something along the lines of capturing an actor's desire for drama and flair. While I am seldome seen amongst the upper crust of the furre communitay, I do command a certain amount of respect and desirability for other's acts. I have, on occasion, stated my desire to improve the caliber of my masquerade acts. Hence, why I have landed on your quant doorsteps looking like a forlorn waif in need of a good meal.

I'm serious, nobody posts anymore :(

I think y'all should go recruit friends who are interested in acting and furry to join, I know there have got to be more out there. Even furs just interested casually in theatre!

Anyway dolls, how are you? Is anyone doing anything exciting acting-wise recently?

Personally, I'm currently taking a rigorous acting Shakespeare class, am part of the all-female cast of Anton in Show Business (a very funny, very metatheatrical play if you're unfamiliar), and am auditioning for Tennessee Williams' Vieux Carre next week - speaking of, I should probably work on my monologue some. If I don't get into VC, I'll audition for Cabaret, but I would much rather do the former - I love Tennessee Williams.

So... let's make this community more active, guys! Post about your endeavors, I want to hear! :D And bring your friends!

Assassins - Gun Song
I don't actually think I posted this here when I uploaded the video.

Anyway, I was Sara Jane Moore in my college's production of Sondheim's Assassins back in April, and here's a video of me in the role (my only big solo in the show and even then, so brief! But I loved being Moore so, so much!). I come in about halfway through the song. Apologies for volume issues, my father's camera isn't the greatest.

Anyone else have work they'd like to share?

Thurs, Nov 2nd is Pay-What-You-Can-Night, it's exactly what it sounds like. It's a fun show, stop by if you can.

Furry Plays
Someone asked about furry-themed plays. There's only one play I know of - called S4TYR PL4Y, that's been performed, but I know that two shortish furry-themed musicals are being worked on right now. There's Chama C. Fox's Wolf Land and my own modest effort, called Yiff!.

There's a page about furry-themed theatre at the FurryWiki... linky

Was doing my fairly regular yet-still-random meandering through LiveJournal-land and happened upon this amusing little community. It certainly is nice to see a place like this, and I've dropped in to give kudos and say hello.

A little about me: I've been involved in acting for over six years now, and only recently embraced my fur-side. I'm still exploring things and I thought that a community like this may help me feel things out a little. Plus I just plain love a good theatre-based discussion!

So, hey! Nice to meet you all.

P.S. I have but one request: My little brother reads my journal proper, and I would prefer that his poor ten-year-old brain not be exposed to the oddities of his older sister quite yet. So, if any fur-related comments could be kept off of my personal journal it'd be appreciated.
